HD Picture converter

Converts images to the format used by TheLastMillennial's HD Picture Viewer on TI-84 Plus CE and TI-83 Premium CE calculators.

How to use

  1. Choose an image file in the form, or drag and drop an image file
  2. Specify a name for the output
  3. Press the convert button
  4. Wait while your image is processed
  5. Press the save button when complete to save a ZIP file containing appvars to be sent to your calculator
Large images can require a lot of memory on your calculator; resizing them may be useful depending on how much detail you want to retain. Squoosh is a handy tool to do that right from your web browser.

Picture input

This should be unique among images stored on the calculator, and must be exactly two capital letters.

About

This web app converts images to a format that can be viewed on a Texas Instruments TI-84+ CE or TI-83 Premium (as well as variants of each) using TheLastMillennial's HD Picture Viewer. Currently only the image format used in version 2.0.0-beta1 is supported, but new features and format changes are expected to be handled by newer versions of this converter as needed.

This converter was written by Peter Marheine and is open source, implemented in Rust with a custom HTML and Javascript frontend. The source code can be found at gitlab.com/taricorp/hdpictureconverter-rs and can be freely copied or modified subject to the terms of the (permissive) license found there.

Bug reports and feature requests for this converter should be made via the Gitlab issue tracker. Issues with the viewer itself should be reported to TheLastMillennial instead, such as on GitHub.
